Samsung Series 5 Ultrabooks

The South-Korean electronics manufacturer has officially unveiled its new Ultrabook lines. The company called its device with the name Series 5 which will be the new brand for its upcomng ultra-thin notebooks.

Samsung Series 5 Ultrabooks Specifications

According to notebookcheck, Samsung Series 5 Ultrabook will be available in two sizes as 14-inch and 13-inch version. The first mentioned model will be shipped with some equipments that can not be found in other already-released ultrabooks, at least until this news is written, like discrete graphics (Radeon HD 7550M) and even a built-in optical disc drive. Beyond that two components, the notebook will reportedly come standard with Intel Core i5 CPU, up to 8GB RAM, a 1366×768 resolution anti-reflective display and hybrid SSD-HDD combo options. The source also claims that some connectivity options will be present as well, such as VGA, HDMI, Ethernet and USB ports.

Just like its larger sibling, the smaller 13-inch ultrabook will include the same specifications, except the screen size, the optical drive and discrete graphics (it will pack integrated Intel HD 3000 instead). For the result, the 13-inch model of the first Samsung Series 5 will weighs only 1.4kg (3.08 pounds) and has just 14.9mm (0.586 inches) thick. The ultrabook is expected to bring the same connectivity options as the 14-inch model.

Samsung Series 5 Ultrabooks Price

Both of the new Samsung Series 5 will be officially released sometime on this month in South Korea. Notebookcheck said that the Samsung Ultrabook duo will cost about $1300 and $1345 for the 13-inch and 14-inch model, respectively. Hopefully, these new Ultrabooks will show up on upcoming CES 2012.
